Legacy of Eastbrook Hills is set in a dark, modern world where the abandoned mining town of Eastbrook Hills holds eerie secrets and a haunted past. Students arrive in town, only to be pulled into a growing mystery filled with strange events and supernatural elements. Across five connected episodes, players uncover hidden truths, encounter unsettling characters, and shape the story through their choices.

The game is fully cooperative, with players jointly guiding a group of characters. Actions are chosen as a team by selecting cards that reveal new clues, dialogue, and story developments. Most actions advance the in-game time, pushing the story toward its finale. Decisions made along the way impact the narrative, encouraging exploration, teamwork, and careful deduction.
